Memorial Day - remembering

Yesterday I got the Stand and Salute cartridge from Big Lots on sale for $25.00. I have had the clear craft plastic for sometime, not really sure what I was going to use it for. I decided to make a door hanging for the front door. I used red, white and blue striped ribbon and all of the cut outs were from Stand and Salute. We'll keep it up throughout the summer in honor of Memorial Day and July 4th.

This morning my youngest daughter and I went to the local Veterans cemetery and placed this card on a random grave. Actually it was the grave of John Heardon Buckley who served in WWII. We chose this grave because my mother's maiden name was Buckley. The inside says "America thanks you".

  1. Great deal on the cart! Love how creative you got with our challenge. Your door hanging is wonderful. Thank you for sharing it with us at Practical Scrappers :)

  2. Love the door hanging idea! Great idea for a transparency sheet!

I love the gesture you made with the card, I might do the same thing with my boys when they are old enough to get it.

  3. Beautiful projects and a wonderful idea, I love it!
